The Werewolf Game (TWG) is a role playing game.
The Story so far.
As pioneers to a far and distant land, your ancestors could not believe their luck when they found a beautiful and verdant valley, with plush meadows, and a sparkling stream running through it. For weeks they had struggled through the deep forest, looking for somewhere to call home. Wildlife was abundant, the soil fertile, and without ado they decided to settle there. As time went on and children grew up, other villages were established one by one, the nearest about a days ride on horseback. Life was good, trade was good, people were happy.
Then one day a villager failed to return. A search party was mustered, and three days later the tattered remains of the corpse is found. The village doctor and the huntsmen seem to think the teeth marks are indicative of...or similar to that of a wolf...but it would have to be huge. A Town Hall meeting is called, and after some discussion it is decided that a messenger should be sent to the nearest village "Oak Grove". Perhaps they can offer aid, or will know what is going on. The rider never returns.
The following night another town meeting is held, the villagers speak in hushed tones as they wait for it to begin. Clearly they are frightened now. The door is thrown open by a somewhat inebriated Mr Cox, the retired blacksmith, who loudly begins to tell a preposterous tale about how he bravely fended off a werewolf attack, but unfortunately was bitten. Some villagers laugh and ridicule, clearly he is drunk!
The town sheriff and a couple of his deputies escort him to the jailhouse to sleep it off. They get back just in time to see a terrified, battered and bloodied man from a different village fall from his horse and crawl up the steps to the Town Hall before passing out.
As the doctor is seeing to the man, (now identified as the Judges nephew Nigel) a ruckus is heard coming from the jail. Sighing in exasperation the sheriff and his deputies return to find a huge hairy beast tearing up the cell Mr Cox was occupying. They look around, but there is no sign of Mr Cox, and the cell appears to still be locked.
Shaking and white faced they return to the Town Hall just in time to hear the judges nephew tell another tale which would seem ridiculous, if it were not for what they had just witnessed.
Apparently a few weeks ago people in Oak Grove had started to disappear one by one. What remained of the bodies was soon found. Four messengers were sent out to other villages asking for help. Only one returned to tell them that upon arriving at "Dingley Dell" the place appeared to be deserted.
However, as he came into the square there were four mutilated corpses lying around. There was only one survivor left who lived long enough to tell them that a pack of werewolves had infiltrated the village, and then began to kill them off one by one. It was clear that there were werewolves among them, but who? By day everyone looked perfectly human. The villagers were scared, they tried desperately to discover the secret identities of the wolves among them, but to no avail. One by one they perished, dying a horrifying death at the hands of these denizens of Hell. He himself had barely made it back alive.
Preposterous? Perhaps, if not for the present occupant of Mr Cox's cell! Also, hadn't he said something about a werewolf attack before they had put him in jail?
There are werewolves among you. If you wish to survive, you will need to look again at everyone around you and decide which ones are guilty for the killings and hang them before you too are killed and eaten or turned into a vicious beast.
Sign ups for the game will be posted in the News and Announcements section.
